Slash

Slash explores a simpler way to interact with everyday tasks: type what you want to do, add a command, and let the interface turn it into an action. The project experiments with lightweight, text-based interaction instead of navigating through layers of menus and forms.

Why Slash?

Most productivity tools ask you to navigate their interface before you can do something.

Slash started with a different question:

What if the interface could understand the action directly?

Instead of opening a reminder app, finding the right screen, choosing a date and filling out a form, Slash explores a simple command-based interaction where the user can just type what they mean.

The project is an experiment in reducing the distance between intention and action.

I'm using Slash to explore command-based interfaces, natural interaction and how a small interaction model can grow into a useful product without becoming complicated.
